Jackie joined the firm as a solicitor in the Property Law section in 2009 having had almost ten years experience in law firms, largely in the fields of commercial and property law.

Jackie first started working for a medium sized law firm in Sydney in 2000, while still studying law.  After moving from Sydney to Queensland in 2005 Jackie worked for a firm on the Sunshine Coast until joining Wilson Lawyers in 2009.  While on the Sunshine Coast, Jackie also volunteered her time to give legal advice as part of a community legal service.

Experience:

Commercial Leasing:
drafting, negotiating and advising on leases and agreement for leases for landlords of industrial complexes, retail shops, commercial offices, strata and non-strata complexes; reviewing leases and providing advice to tenants in relation to retail shops and commercial offices;

providing advice on Retail Shop Lease Act compliance; and acting for landlords and tenants in respect of extension, amendment and assignment of leases.

Commercial Transactions:

• drafting and advising on contracts and other documentation necessary to give effect to all manner of commercial transactions; carrying out due diligence investigations; and
• advice in relation to GST and stamp duty implications of transactions.

Property Transactions and Development:

• compliance with Conveyancing Protocol and Property Agents and Motor Dealers Act;
• supervising residential property transactions;
• preparing and advising on contracts and option agreements;
• advising buyers in respect of off-the-plan purchases;
• advice in relation to stamp duty and concessions;
• acting for a developer in relation to the purchase of property for the purpose of development;
• advising in relation to and carrying out due diligence investigations;
• drafting off-the-plan contracts including Land Sales Act disclosure and compliance; and
• managing sale of properties off-the-plan.
